Jacksonville, FL — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has arrested a man they say smashed his car into an Avondale home, leaving a trail of damage in his wake.
Robert Buccella Jr., 50, is charged with DUI, four counts of DUI causing damage to a person or property, careless driving, and possession of marijuana.
According to the arrest report, Buccella Jr. was still inside the crashed vehicle when police arrived at the scene on Rensselaer Avenue.
An officer said in the report, Buccella was unsteady on his feet, smelled of alcohol, and had slurred speech.
As for why he crashed into the home, Buccella allegedly told an officer he was driving and a vehicle pulled out in front of him, so he cut a hard left.
When they searched him, an officer says they found a baggie of marijuana in his left shirt pocket.
Neighbors tell our partner Action News Jax, they're shaken up, "It kind of scares me as to what happened to him prior to him turning down our street."
Thankfully, no one was hurt in the crash, even though a family of four, including two young kids, were inside the home at the time.
