Obama campaign opens Jacksonville headquarters

While members of the Republican party continue to fight over who really won the Florida primary, President Obama is setting up shop in Jacksonville.

Monday is opening day for the Obama campaign's Jacksonville office. DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz calls this a kickoff to an active campaign season in the Sunshine State.

"The kind of campaign that we're going to build here in Florida, and have been, is one that will stand up the most dynamic, robust, grassroots presidential campaign in history," says Schultz.

She says they'll help promote Obama's message of jobs, immigration reform, and affordable, accessible healthcare.

"Those are the kinds of things that President Obama has made a priority and will appeal to Floridians," she added.

Their downtown headquarters is located at 608 North Julia Street. Monday's open house will last from 5:30pm until 8:30pm. Check the Obama/Biden Events page for more information.
