A pipe rupture at The Bridge Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida facility in Springfield has caused extensive flooding, forcing the location to shut down for several months.

The flooding caused widespread damage throughout the building, ruining flooring, walls, furnishings, electronic devices, and educational materials.

The organization is coordinating alternative plans to serve youth and their families at other club sites while the Springfield location is closed.

Wyatt Parlette, COO for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida, emphasized the importance of restoring the facility for local youth.

“They come here every day this is their second home like a second family to them, so it’s imperative that we get the building up to our standard as soon as possible to bring that safe space back for those young people,” Parlette said.
