Jacksonville — A man and a woman are in police custody in connection to a shooting in a neighborhood near Stockon and Edison.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says they were contacted by Atlantic Beach Police after the two were taken into custody. The pair was in a gray car that ran off the road and into the water near Mayport.

The pair was taken into custody, after the agency realized they match the description witnesses gave police in relation to a shooting.

JSO responded to the initial shooting off Orion Street on a burglary call around 6:00 a.m. When they arrived they found a man was shot. That man was transported to UF Health, with what police described as critical injuries.
JSO says that man has since died.
