According to the Pocahontas Times in West Virginia, the Jacksonville woman who was arrested in West Virginia and charged with concealing a dead body, admitted to abusing and killing her daughter.
According to The West Virginia State Police, Erica Newsome crashed her car on a road near the West Virginia and Virginia state line on Sunday. After the crash, an older couple from New York says they saw Newsome carrying her daughter over an embankment. When Police arrived to the scene they found the body about 150 feet away from the crash.
J-S-O confirms that they believe the child died in Jacksonville. Police say Newsome was traveling to Buffalo, New York which is where the father of the child lives.
State Police in West Virginia say investigators in Jacksonville searched Newsome’s home in Jacksonville and found evidence of foul play.
J-S-O has confirmed they are combing through a home on the Northside on Jake Road trying to put the pieces together as to what happened.
The cause of death has not yet been determined and police say this is an active investigation.
