Jail records showed Hanford was actually arrested about two months after the murder on charges including resisting an officer without violence and possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana. As a result, he also had his probation violated from a 2014 domestic battery case. Court records show Hanford was additionally charged with possession of a weapon or ammunition by a delinquent at the end of 2015- connected to the same incident that stemmed the charges in September 2015- and he was in jail on that charge until the end of 2016.
