JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A car crashed through the front of a salon near the St. Johns Town Center over the weekend, pinning people inside but causing no serious injuries.
The crash happened at Zinke’s Salon, where surveillance video captured the moment a BMW barreled through the front of the business.

Owner Bert Peterson said two clients and a salon manager were pinned by the vehicle.
“The first thing you say is, how did they even survive?” Peterson said.
It is unclear what caused the driver to crash into the salon. Action News Jax has requested the crash report from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and is still waiting for additional information.

The salon recently celebrated its 15th anniversary. Now, about 20 stylists are temporarily out of work as staff members rebook dozens of appointments and begin the recovery process.
“You know the saying, don’t eat an elephant at one time. So, we’re just trying to do it piece by piece,” Peterson said.
The location, which is at St. Johns Town Center North, a shopping center adjacent to the St. Johns Town Center, remains closed.

Zinke’s Salon is shifting clients to its Ponte Vedra location. Peterson expects the damaged salon to remain shut down for at least the next week.
“We’re just happy that at the end of the day everybody got to go home, and we’ll just pick up the salon from here,” Peterson said.
Despite the damage, Peterson and his staff are focusing on the positive. The salon plans to donate damaged products to a local charity.
