Early voting in St. Johns County runs from August 6 through the 15, and this year there will be a couple new options for people looking to vote early in person.
“I think we’re going to see a lot of people use their vote-by-mail ballots, but we also have a lot of people in St. Johns County, our voters like to vote early,” says Supervisor of Elections Vicky Oakes.
She says they’ll expand early voting for both the primary election and the general election. For the primary they’ll have eight locations compared to the six they usually have, and Oakes says her goal is to go up to 10 locations by the general election.
Oakes says they’re also extending the number of days for early voting this year.
“We are adding two days,” she says. “Normally we have eight days for a primary, we’re having 10 days [this year].”
