Jacksonville, FL — It's not yet clear what it means for the facility's 600 or so employees, but State Farm is confirming to WOKV, they plan to shut down their operations center located on Baymeadows Way on Jacksonville’s Southside.
The company didn't release an exact date for this closure, but said this would happen in 2019.
WOKV asked what this means for their Jacksonville employees and received the following response: "As we work through this process, we will share options and additional information with those employees located in this facility. State Farm will continue to have a strong local presence in Jacksonville through our agents."
State Farm says most of the Jacksonville area's employees are in billing and other customer service roles.
In a media release, State Farm says some of the work from the Jacksonville facility will be moved to other locations, including their headquarters in Illinois.
