CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — A Clay County elementary school is on a “hold” on the first day of school as deputies pursued a suspect.
Clay County Sheriff Michelle Cook said Tuesday morning on Facebook that the search happened near Tynes Elementary School, which is on Tynes Boulevard north of Old Jennings Road.

Cook said the subject is in custody and “no kids have been injured/involved.”
According to Clay County District Schools, a “hold” means that students are trained to:
- Clear the hallways and remain in their area or room until the “All Clear” is announced.
- Do business as usual
