UNF police announce 15 new felony charges against former student, after allegedly finding another hidden camera

Jacksonville, FL — A former University of North Florida student, already behind bars in Duval County, is now facing 15 new felony charges.

The University Police Department announcing the new charges against Jesse Martinez Friday evening, after investigators say they discovered he had planted a hidden video camera in the men's restroom at the Thomas G. Carpenter Library this past spring.

Police say from that camera they were able to identify seven new victims that were completely unaware they had been recorded.

WOKV told you back in April when Martinez was initially arrested, for allegedly trying to extort sex acts out of another student, by threatening to release nude photos of that student. At the time, Martinez was charged with intent to compel and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
