Jacksonville, FL — The University of North Florida student arrested for allegedly trying to extort sex acts from another student is now facing new charges.

We first told you in April that Jesse Martinez allegedly threatened to share nude photos of another male student, if that victim didn't meet him for sexual favors. He was arrested at that time for intent to compel and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.

Now, the University Police Department says their continued investigation has uncovered eight video files of a man using the bathroom and showering. The files appear to be from a hidden camera in an Osprey Fountains residence hall bathroom, according to police. We’re told the victim was identified and confirmed he did not consent to the recordings.

UPD says Martinez has now been charged with eight counts of video voyeurism. There are even more video files police continue to investigate, though, so more charges may be filed.

If you have any information about this incident or you believe you may be a victim, you can contact UPD at 904-620-2800. UPD further says they are committed to handling the sensitive matter in this case with discretion. UNF also has a 24-hour crisis hotline for victims at 904-620-1010.
