Unseasonably hot temperatures to continue much of this week

Near record heat continues

Jacksonville, Fl — We are starting off another week with near-record highs. Action News Jax Meteorologist Corey Simma reports temperatures will climb to the mid-80s today. The record is 86 degrees set in 1962.

The warmth continues this week with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Tuesday’s record is 87 degrees set in 2017. A weak cool front arrives tomorrow bringing only an isolated shower in the afternoon. There won’t be much cool air behind this one.

Wednesday’s record of 88 degrees was set in 2017 and we’re forecast to hit 87. Thursday’s forecast high is 88 degrees, which would break the 1997 record of 86.

Another cold front arrives late in the day Friday. A few showers and possibly a thunderstorm will come with this one. Friday will also be warm and windy.

We cool down into the 70s for the weekend. Saturday’s Gate River Run will be cooler and dry with morning lows in the 50s and only climbing to the upper 70s.

Sunday looks even cooler, but average, with temperatures ‘only’ in the low 70s.
