The leading advocacy group for the St. Johns River, the St. Johns Riverkeeper (SJRK), has begun accepting applications for someone to lead the organization.
Earlier this summer, Lisa Rinaman, St. Johns Riverkeeper for the past 14 years, announced her plan to step down in the spring of 2027. She will continue serving until then and support a smooth transition, the group said in a news release.
Rinaman has been the St. Johns Riverkeeper since 2012 and is the third person to successfully serve in the role.
“We are grateful for Lisa’s many years of outstanding service and commitment to this organization and our St. Johns River,” said Jimmy Orth, St. Johns Riverkeeper Executive Director. “We are confident we will find a dynamic (individual) who will continue to successfully provide our river with a powerful voice and advocate and build on the strong foundation Lisa helped to build.”
The nonprofit organization is seeking someone with expertise in environmental science and policy, strategic planning, public relations and communications.
The St. Johns Riverkeeper concerns its with in issues that impact the river’s health, ensuring rules and regulations are protective and enforced, polluters are held accountable, and threats (both imminent and emerging) are adequately addressed, the release said.
Candidates with relevant experience should submit their resume and a letter of intent in PDF format to info@stjohnsriverkeeper.org. SJRK will accept resumes until the position is filled.
