ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A St. Johns County contractor was set to enter a plea and be sentenced in court on Tuesday, but a plea deal in the works fell apart.

Spencer Calvert was expected to enter a plea and be sentenced in court. Prosecutors had previously presented a deal that would have sent him to prison for five years.

But after emotional testimony from families who say they were left financially devastated, that agreement unraveled.

He is accused of taking $15 million in deposits but leaving homes unfinished.

One of the victims is Captain Sandy Yawn. She’s well known for her role on Bravo’s “Below Deck” series.

“Spencer, you lied to us, you promised us, you acted like you were our friend, that you wanted to help us. And you destroyed us. Every one of us,” Yawn said, motioning to all the victims in court.
