Investigation underway at mobile home fire on Jacksonville's Westside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — UPDATE, 11AM: A woman is dead following a fire inside of a mobile home Tuesday morning. Firefighters were called to the scene in the 6100 block of Collins Road in the Argyle Forest neighborhood at about 5:49 a.m. When they arrived they observed the home fully ablaze, JFRD said at a news conference.

When fighter fighters made entry into the house, they encountered mass amounts of clutter and debris, JFRD said adding that it was likely a hoarding situation.

The blaze was brought under control at about 6:23 a.m. and at 6:42 a.m. fire fighters found a deceased woman. Her identity was not released.

8:30AM: Action News Jax is on the scene of a mobile home fire Tuesday morning in the 6100 block of Collins Road in the Argyle Forest neighborhood. Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office’s homicide unit is on the scene located off of Blanding Boulevard.

It’s unknown at this time if there are any injuries or fatalities, but the medical examiner is on the scene. Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department said they were called to the location at 5:49 a.m.

A news conference has been called for later Tuesday morning.
