Woman hit and killed while riding bike on the southside

Jacksonville Police are investigating a deadly hit and run crash from early Sunday morning. Police say a woman was riding a bike across Beach Boulevard near Southside Boulevard when an unknown vehicle hit her and then took off. The woman is described as a white female but didn’t ID her. Witnesses inside a building nearby told police they heard the crash and saw a red truck drive down the road, but police can’t say if that was the same vehicle that hit the woman.

Police say the woman died at the scene.
