Game 3 of the World Series on Monday was a low-scoring affair that will likely be defined by two moments that did not involve any runs scoring. The Rangers topped the Diamondbacks 3-1 and now hold a 2-1 lead in the World Series.

The Diamondbacks had the game's first good scoring chance, with Christian Walker on second base after doubling to lead off the second inning. Then Tommy Pham singled, and Walker ran through the stop sign from third-base coach Tony Beasley before being thrown out at home.

It was the Rangers who got on the board first, as they recorded three runs in the third via the bats of Nathaniel Lowe, Marcus Semien and Corey Seager, who hit another home run to make it 3-0.

Then, it what might've been the most pivotal moment of the game for the Rangers, Max Scherzer, who started on the mound, exited due to "back tightness" before he was due to go back out for the bottom of the fourth.
