The owner of the San Francisco 49ers was arrested in Ohio and has already pleaded no contest to two misdemeanors.
John “Jed” York was arrested in East Palestine, Ohio, on Aug. 24 and posted a $5,000 bond, WKBN reported.
The news station received an East Palestine Police report that only stated, “On August 23, 2026, the East Palestine Police Department assisted the MVHTTF on the arrest of John York.”
The arrest occurred at a mobile home community.
The police department said further information would have to come from the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force, which WKBN reached out to for comment but did not immediately receive.
KRON said that he was arrested on suspicion of engaging in prostitution, according to court documents. SF Gate said that charge was eventually dropped.
He pleaded no contest Monday morning to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools.
York was sentenced to two days in the Columbiana County Jail to be served concurrently with credit for a day served, and a $1,150 fine.
The fines have already been paid, KRON reported.
His cellphone, which had been seized, was ordered returned, but he would have to forfeit the $160 seized, with the money going to the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force, WKBN reported.
