NEW YORK — A monster truck carrying the casket containing the body of rapper DMX led a funeral procession Saturday from Yonkers to the Barclays Center in New York.
A monster truck with the words “Long Live DMX” emblazoned across the side and the “Ruff Ryders” logo on the hood, led thousands of motorcycles to the Brooklyn arena, WINS reported.

Police had warned drivers previously about possible delays Saturday afternoon because of the procession.

DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was taken to a hospital April 2 and spent several days on life support after suffering a “catastrophic cardiac arrest.” He died April 9. He was 50.

A private memorial for him is at 4 p.m. While it is restricted to only friends and family because of the coronavirus, it will be livestreamed. His funeral is at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
