We’re approaching the peak of the Atlantic hurricane season... see & read updates every day at “Talking the Tropics With Mike”.
Meteorological summer is over & - no surprise - it was a hot one! June, July & August were 1.3 degrees above average led by the especially warm months of June & July. And we played catch up on rainfall after a wet season that sputtered in June, July & early August. JIA ended up with 20.87″ of rain - just 0.38″ below average. But the long term drought continues with JIA still more than 12″ below average since last September.

Records show NE Florida & SE Ga. typically have drier than average summers during an El Nino which is going strong in the Pacific Basin.
