Latinx Heritage Month runs September 15 through October 15, and what better way to celebrate than by eating your way around Jacksonville? Gabi from Yelp Jacksonville has three Latinx-owned local spots to check out, each bringing something completely different to the table — from Ecuadorian comfort food to handcrafted pizza and Mexican favorites.
Start with Chancho King in Murray Hill, where people are loving the Ecuadorian flavors and welcoming atmosphere. Some of the dishes getting attention include the pork sandwich, plantain chips and pan de yuca. Then there’s Rodrigo’s Craft Pizza in Riverside, a family-run spot making its signature pizzas with 72-hour fermented dough and a “mi casa es tu casa” approach to hospitality.
Finally, El Cabo in Regency is bringing the Mexican flavors with favorites like birria tacos, the Cabo burrito and California burrito. Three very different restaurants, and three delicious ways to celebrate Latinx Heritage Month while supporting locally owned businesses around Jacksonville.
