Clay County — Clay County is opening up pre-registration Wednesday at 8 a.m. for any Florida residents looking to adopt one of the animals rescued earlier this year from a property on Old Jennings Road.
The animals have been housed and cared for at the Clay County Fairgrounds for weeks. Organizers took us on a tour of the facility to get a look at some of the animals that will soon be up for adoption.
An adoption event will take place at some point so the county is trying to get an idea of how many people are interested. Once the pre-registration opens, you can head here to sign up for a randomly-assigned 30-minute adoption time slot for the upcoming event.
You have to submit an application. The portal will have information on pricing and how the process works.
The application will ask for a contact name, email address and some basic information about previous pet ownership and family veterinarian information. All applications will be vetted and assigned a number if they are approved. Each number will be randomly assigned a time slot and an email will be sent to confirm the time.
The pre-registration window closed at 4 p.m. on Friday and the vetting process will happen over the following week.
