Jacksonville, FL — For a second time in as many days, construction crews found human remains in the Oceanway area.
We first reported on Tuesday that remains were found in construction of a ramp off I-295 and Main Street. This morning, police reported that additional remains were found in the same area.
JSO is coordinating with the Medical Examiner’s Office and a forensic anthropologist team to determine the identity and cause of death.
“We have discovered another site where the source of this dirt is coming from. We’ll also be working over there”, said JSO Lt. Craig Waldrup.
While it’s early in the investigation, JSO said multiple bones were found at two sites.
“It is more than one (person) because it’s pieces, and the forensic anthropologist hasn’t been able to put those all together yet”, said Waldrup.
The construction of a ramp is the center of focus, and crews are pushing dirt around 50 feet high.
