This morning Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn has officially released his last edition of the annual “Waste book” which details wasteful government spending.

One major example includes destroying over $16 billion in ammunition the government has deemed isn’t useful, and it will cost $1 billion to complete that task.

To put that in perspective, that cost could pay for the salary of 54,000 army privates.

The most bizarre instance comes from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. They got $10,000 to watch grass grow.

The agency was studying how smooth cord grass grows on a Florida reserve. Part of that money went to fixing land to help grow that grass, and then paying people to watch.
