Another near-record warm day before cooler changes

Jacksonville, FL — Our streak of record and near record temperatures will continue today. Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh is tracking low 80’s again. The record high of 83 was set in 1989.

“13 of the first 15 days of this year have been above average and, in many cases, way above average. We’re running about ten degrees above average”, Buresh said.

A cool front tomorrow brings a few showers but still very mild temps in the upper 70’s. And then finally on Friday it turns cooler with brisk winds off the Atlantic. Temperatures will ‘only’ be in the upper 60’s.

The weekend starts off warmer with temps in the upper 70’s, then a stronger cold front brings showers on Sunday and falling temperatures.

Winter’s chill returns next week, with the possibility of a freeze for some neighborhoods early in the morning’s mid-week.
