St. Augustine Beach City Commissioner Rich O'Brien (St. Augustine Beach)

The City of St. Augustine Beach is looking for a new City Commissioner.

At the end of Tuesday night’s meeting, Commissioner Rich O’Brien resigned.

“I have considered it an honor to serve,” O’Brien says.

The City is now looking for someone to fill the newly created vacancy, and they’re accepting applications through March 22nd. To apply, you must have been a resident of St. Augustine Beach and registered to vote there for one year prior to April 1, 2019.

You can apply by sending a letter of interest and resume to the City Manager at mroyle@cityofsab.org or 2200 A1A South, St. Augustine Beach, FL 32080. Interviews will be conducted by the City Commission at its regular meeting on Monday, April 1st.

This is the second leadership shake-up in St. Johns County in less than two weeks. Last week, the Mayor of St. Augustine resigned for health reasons. Her replacement was appointed this week.
