UPDATE: 4-year-old found unresponsive in car expected to be released from hospital soon

Jacksonville, FL — The Baker County Sheriff's Office says a 4-year-old who was found unresponsive in a vehicle is expected to be medically cleared soon. The child was listed in stable condition on Friday morning.

Deputies say they were called to O C Horne Road in Sanderson, and the child was airlifted to Jacksonville for treatment.

Baker County Sheriff Scotty Rhoden thanked all of the first responders, medical staff and citizens for their dedicated efforts and thought-filled prayers during the child’s recovery.

The Department of Children and Families will investigate the events that led to the child being found unresponsive.
