Nassau County Emergency Management says a boil water advisory is in effect, covering all Nassau-Amelia Utilities customers.
That covers more than 3,000 customers, and is expected to last through at least 3pm on Saturday. That is when the next lab results are due back.
We’re told the warning was issued as a precaution because there was a loss of pressure in the system, and that could have allowed bacteria to intrude.
The advisory means you should bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute, before using it.
City of Fernandina water customers are not affected by this advisory.
