Jacksonville, FL — Northeast Florida dodged the worst of the severe storms as they raced through the South over the weekend. Other than an isolated severe thunderstorm near St. Augustine on Sunday afternoon, many neighborhoods saw much-needed rain.
Action News Jax Meteorologist Garrett Bedenbaugh says winds will be gusty out of the west today with temperatures that stay in the 70’s after the hottest weekend of the year (so far).
We’ll stay cool and clear tonight with temperatures in the low 50’s and even some inland neighborhoods fall into the upper 40’s. Tuesday will be sunny and nice with afternoon temps near 80.
Temperatures will warm up into the middle 80’s by mid-week and we’ll have another storm system move through on Thursday.
It's drier, breezy and comfortably cool after the warmest weekend of the year. @wxgarrett
