Child porn possession charges filed against photographer in Jax Beach

Mario Arthur Peralta III

The Jacksonville photographer accused of putting a video camera in the changing room of his studio is now facing new charges.

We first told you back in May that Mario Arthur Peralta III was arrested for video voyeurism. Jacksonville Beach Police say he set up a modeling photography shoot with a 16-year-old at his studio in Jax Beach and then placed a hidden digital video camera in the dressing room. The recorder was positioned to see the victim dressing and undressing.

Jacksonville Beach Police have now also arrested Peralta for an additional count of video voyeurism on a victim under 19-years-old and 18 counts of sexual performance by a child- possession of child pornography.

Police tell WOKV the new charges come after a search of “numerous” electronic items seized during the initial search. While searching Peralta’s computer and other electronics, investigators allegedly found downloaded child pornography. Police say the media was not produced in Peralta’s studio, rather he downloaded them from internet sites.

Peralta is still in jail from the initial charge filed in May.
