Clay County deputies searching for man behind series of hit and run crashes

Jacksonville, Fl. — The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging everyone in the area, including drivers to be on the lookout for Robert Francis Ayers Junior. Deputies says he was involved in a series of hit and run crashes in the area of County Road 220 between Baxley Road and Henley Road.

After the hit and run crashes, the Sheriff’s Office says they were able to locate Ayers’ vehicle along with his passenger. Deputies say Ayers took off on foot toward the Coppergate Neighborhood.

Ayers was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.

If you do come across Ayers, deputies say you should not try to apprehend him.
