Clay County deputy stable following motorcycle crash

Jacksonville, FL — WOKV is working to learn more, after a reported traffic crash involving a deputy with the Clay County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office says one of their deputies was working in the Clay Hill-area Wednesday evening, on County Road 218, near Long Horn Road, when a vehicle pulled out in front of him. They tell us that deputy then collided with the vehicle. We’re told the deputy was injured, although he is in stable condition.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

A sheriff’s office spokesperson tells us they believe the crash was truly an accident, adding they have nothing to indicate this was intentional.
