Jacksonville, FL — Undercover narcotics detectives opened fire on a car on Jacksonville's northside Wednesday following a dangerous close call. Jacksonville Police say they were trying to stop a reckless driver last night and, after a short pursuit, the driver pulled into a dead end on Claudia-Spencer Street.
“The driver of that suspect vehicle then sped forward and the two detectives had to take evasive action to get out of the way”, said Assistant Chief Brian Kee.
The officers opened fire on the car but apparently did not hit anyone inside. The black Chevy Malibu with Maryland plates was later found abandoned on Ionia Street.
Police are looking for whoever was inside. It’s not clear how many people may have been inside at the time.
