Jacksonville, FL — UPDATE: Around 8:30PM, the Coast Guard confirmed the boaters were rescued 16 miles east of Jacksonville, after being spotted by the search plane. Both boaters are being treated for hypothermia, but are in stable condition. The vessel was disabled, and has been marked with a locating beacon with salvage expected to take place Friday.

The Coast Guard is searching for two boaters who left the Mayport boat ramp early Wednesday and haven’t been seen since.
Dixan Diaz and Jamie Perera left around 6 AM Wednesday on a 21-foot Sea Fox cuddy cabin. Their truck and trailer are still at the boat ramp. The boaters failed to return home Wednesday night, and a spouse reported them missing to Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville early Thursday morning.
A Coast Guard HC-130 Hercules search plane from Air Station Clearwater has been deployed to search for the boaters. The Coast Guard says their search will continue through the night.
