Jacksonville FL — As you get your holiday shopping done Consumer Warrior Clark Howard says you may be tempted to sign up for a store credit card, but don’t do it. Clark says those cards are considered junk credit in the credit scoring and reporting world.
“They can hurt your credit standing, not necessarily help it”. Clark says.
Clark also says store cards can sometimes have high-interest rates. He says it’s not out of the ordinary for those cards to have interest rates between 30%-36%.
