Consumer Warrior Clark Howard: Invest in a 401K at work when you’re young

Jacksonville FL — Consumer Warrior Clark Howard is back with more tips on how to put more cash in your pocket. Clark says if you’re young and not investing in a 401K at work then you are missing out. Clark says when you are young, time is your ally when investing.

“Especially a time like this where investments have been going down, there’s so much uncertainty because of Ukraine, this is when you gotta be in the game”. Clark says.

Clark suggests when you’re young the best plan to have is what’s called a target retirement fund. He says you put money in month after month and many times you’re able to get an employer to match with that plan.

“You wanna do the Roth version of the 401K, where you get no tax benefit now, but your money grows tax-free, and you spend it tax-free when it’s time to retire”. Clark says.
