Our Consumer Warrior Clark Howard says the price of natural gas is going down following the recent spike due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. “That means a lot of us are going to find the costs, through the winter, of heating lower than was predicted even just about six weeks ago,” says Clark.

If you’re dealing with financial pressure, Clark recommends turning down the heat on your thermostat a degree or two. “It may be you have to wear a light sweatshirt when you’re around the house, or something like that to stay comfortable, but I’d rather wear that sweatshirt than face a bill that puts my budget into the red when that bill shows up,” says the Consumer Warrior.
