Coronavirus vaccine eligibility expanded to people 60+ starting next Monday in Florida

Jacksonville FL — On Monday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced the state is expanding vaccine eligibility to more people starting next Monday. He says people 60 and older will be able eligible to get a vaccine at any site in the state.

“I do think this is the right time to do it. We’re starting to see the demand soften.” DeSantis says.

He says the expansion opens eligibility for about 1.5 million to 2 million more people. We reported last week when the governor said this announcement would be made soon. DeSantis has previously said, shortly after the state offers the vaccine to the 60 and up population, then people 55 and up would be eligible.
