COUNTY BY COUNTY: Early Voting Starts Monday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Early Voting in Florida will start on Monday, but that doesn’t mean that people haven’t already turned out to vote.

More than two million vote-by-mail ballots have been turned into the Florida Supervisor of Elections. This 65 percent of all requested ballots in the state. Nearly half of those ballots were sent by registered Democrats.

DUVAL COUNTY

Duval County Elections is reporting that 70,873 vote-by-mail ballots have been turned in to the Duval County Supervisor Elections Office. This is 10.7 percent of all registered voters in Duval County and 40 percent of all the vote-by-mail requests made in the county.

53 percent of the ballots have been turned in by Democrats, 29 percent of the ballots have been turned in by Republicans, and approximately 15 percent have been turned in by No Party Affiliation/Third Party voters.

To vote-by-mail, people can mail in their ballots or drop them off at one of the designated drop box locations. Most drop boxes will only be available during Early Voting, however there is one outside of the Supervisor of Elections that is currently collecting ballots. Here is a list of all the official drop box locations.

All early voting sites will open Monday at 7 a.m. and will close at 7 p.m. There are a total of 20 early voting sites. Early Voting will end November 1. The list of all the early voting sites in Duval County can be found here.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY

The St. Johns County Supervisor of Elections Office is reporting that 30,222 ballots have been turned in. This is 14.39 percent of all registered voters in St. Johns County.

44 percent of the ballots have been turned in by Democrats, 37 percent of the ballots have been turned in by Republicans, and approximately 17 percent have been turned in by No Party Affiliation/Third Party voters.

To vote-by-mail, people can mail in their ballots or drop them off at one of the designated drop box locations. Most drop boxes will only be available during Early Voting, however there will be drop boxes open starting on Tuesday, October 20, through Oct. 31 at three library branches. CLAY COUNTY

The Clay County Supervisor of Elections Office is reporting that 15,377 ballots have been turned in. This is 9.3 percent of all registered voters in Clay County.

35 percent of the ballots have been turned in by Democrats, 46 percent of the ballots have been turned in by Republicans, and approximately 18 percent have been turned in by No Party Affiliation/Third Party voters.

To vote-by-mail, people can mail in their ballots or drop them off at one of the designated drop box locations. Most drop boxes will only be available during Early Voting, however there will be a 24-hour drop box available at the Elections Office. A list of all the drop boxes can be found here.

NASSAU COUNTY

The Nassau Supervisor of Elections Office is reporting that 10,635 ballots have been turned in. This is 14.7 percent of all registered voters in Nassau County.

36 percent of the ballots have been turned in by Democrats, 46 percent of the ballots have been turned in by Republicans, and approximately 16 percent have been turned in by No Party Affiliation/Third Party voters.

To vote-by-mail, people can mail in their ballots or drop them off at one of the designated drop box locations. Most drop boxes will only be available during Early Voting, however there will be a 24-hour drop box available at the Elections Office. A list of all the drop boxes can be found here.

BAKER COUNTY

The Baker Supervisor of Elections Office is reporting that 1,471 ballots have been turned in. This is 8.6 percent of all registered voters in Baker County.

35 percent of the ballots have been turned in by Democrats, 57 percent of the ballots have been turned in by Republicans, and approximately 7 percent have been turned in by No Party Affiliation/Third Party voters.

To vote-by-mail, people can mail in their ballots or drop them off at the Supervisor of Elections Office.

Early Elections will actually start on October 22 and will end on October 31. There is only one early voting site in Baker County and it’s at the Supervisor of Elections Office. The office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
