Jacksonville, Fl — An early morning crash involving an off-duty officer and a fleeing driver in Mandarin left an off-duty officer injured.
The crash happened right under the W. Beltway overpass on Old St. Augustine Road. According to police, an officer conducted a traffic stop near the Buckman Bridge in the 3 am hour, and the driver fled.
The driver later crashed into an off-duty JSO officer at the Old St. Augustine Road intersection at I-295. The driver then fled on foot but was later arrested and sustained no apparent injuries.
The officer was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were described as non-life threatening.
