JACKSONVILLE, Fla — Actor and improv comic Colin Mochrie is coming to Jacksonville later this month. Mochrie will be at the Florida Theatre on October 11 for the “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” tour, with castmate Brad Sherwood. I got the chance to chat with Mochrie ahead of his upcoming show to talk about his time on the popular improv comedy show and his stint on the Amazon Prime game show “Last One Laughing.”

Before becoming a mainstay on “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” Mochrie was initially rejected by the show when it started overseas. “At that point, it was just a show in Britain, so it wasn’t really well known over here, and I thought it was one of those things, you know, every actor goes through these times where it doesn’t quite work out for you,” said Mochrie. “But I was very fortunate that my good friend Ryan Stiles was part of the show at that point, and he said, ‘Give Colin another chance.’ So they did, and they paired me with Ryan, who I worked with for years before that, and it just sort of built from there. Although every year, they would say, ‘We would have you for one show,’ and then I would do the entire season. It wasn’t until the last year that they said, ‘Okay, you’re doing every show.’”

You can hear Colin’s thoughts on the difference between Whose Line hosts Clive Anderson, Drew Carey, and Aisha Tyler, and how hard it was to not laugh during “Last One Laughing” in the full interview.

Tickets for the “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” tour are on sale now.
