FHP searching for driver in deadly hit and run crash

Jacksonville, Fl. — One woman is dead and one man is recovering after a hit and run on Jacksonville’s Southside near the Beaches, early Monday morning.

The crash report from the Florida Highway Patrol says 68-year-old Dolores Gunby was trying to cross the road on Beach Boulevard at Discovery Way. She was hit by a car traveling west on Beach Boulevard. Troopers say the driver kept heading west on Beach Boulevard after the incident.

The second pedestrian was hit by Gunby after the initial impact. He has minor injuries. Troopers say the two were crossing the street together.

Troopers with FHP are still investigating the crash and charges are pending.
