Jacksonville, Fl — Today is a “First Alert Weather Day.” This early morning will start off dry with increasing clouds. Scattered rain will move into the western parts of our viewing area between 5 and 6 AM.
Showers will progress east and northeast through the morning and arrive in Jacksonville toward the end of the morning commute. Scattered heavy downpours are possible through mid to late morning and into the afternoon. A few embedded thunderstorms could be strong to severe after 11 am / Noon.
The main threat is damaging wind gusts. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out either this afternoon, depending on how much heating we receive.

Highs today will reach the upper 70s to lower 80s. You will notice the humidity increasing through the morning as well as a warm front lifts to the north from the Gulf of Mexico.
Scattered rain and a few strong storms are possible as we approach the afternoon commute as well. The cold front will not pass our area until early this evening.
A few showers are possible behind the front as well thanks to an upper level disturbance. Winds will pick up through the late morning as well. Southerly winds will be blowing at 10-20 mph with higher gusts.
Friday will start off mainly dry with a few sprinkles or light showers. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 50s.
Highs tomorrow will only reach the lower to mid 70s under partly cloudy skies. The weekend looks very fall-like. Highs near or just above 70 degrees, Mornings will be a bit chilly in the 40s and 50s.
