Fourth juvenile who escaped Jacksonville DJJ facility has been caught

Jacksonville, FL — After nearly two weeks on the run, the fourth and final teen who escaped the Jacksonville Youth Academy has now been caught.

The Highlands County Sheriff’s Office says a tip led them to Tajah Bing’s location, in a home in Avon Park. HCSO says he was found hiding under blankets in a bedroom and struggled during the arrest, so he’s been charged with resisting arrest without violence.

HCSO says a 16-year-old and 17-year-old in the home were also arrested on a number of charges, including harboring an escaped fugitive, grand theft of a firearm, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, and more. Investigators say four guns and 94 grams of marijuana were found in the home. Three of the guns were allegedly wrapped in a ski mask and the other was found in a room with an extended magazine and another ski mask. HCSO says at least one of the guns has been confirmed as stolen.

Bing and three other teens are accused of staging a fight at the Jacksonville Youth Academy, which is a Florida Department of Juvenile Justice facility. They allegedly then fought staff, stole a staff member’s keys and cell phone, and escaped. The other three suspects were located within the first day of escaping.
