Jacksonville, FL — GATE Petroleum Company said one of its employees at its store on Southside Boulevard near Touchton Road tested positive for COVID-19.
The company said the employee was in the store last on March 27. All employees who had contact with the employee who tested positive were instructed to self-quarantine for 14 days, the company said in a statement.
The store has been closed for professional cleaning and disinfecting and will reopen Wednesday, April 8.

"Unfortunately, as COVID-19 continues to spread throughout our community, GATE Petroleum Company’s employees and their families are not immune to the virus. We can confirm that an employee who works at our GATE Store located at 4259 Southside Blvd., Jacksonville, FL, has tested positive for COVID19. The employee was last in the store on March 27, 2020.
"Consistent with CDC guidance, we have notified all employees who have been in direct contact with the employee who tested positive, and instructed them to self-quarantine for 14 days since their last contact with the employee. In an abundance of caution, we have also closed the store and will have the facility professionally cleaned and disinfected. The store will reopen tomorrow morning, Wednesday, April 8 at 5 a.m., once the cleaning is complete.
