Gymnastics Unlimited recovering from Monday’s fire

Gymnastics Unlimited debris after a fire broke out early Monday morning

JACKSONVILLE, Fla — Her motto is “building champions from the inside out.”

Lisa Music, the owner of Gymnastics Unlimited on Lennox Avenue, is dealing with the aftermath of her business catching fire early Monday morning. No one was hurt in the fire.

Music said she wanted the gym to be a special place for children. “It costs a lot to clean up and it will be such a tremendous amount to build back up.” She went on to say, “My staff my family that has just had open arms for so many years that they continue to reach out and support us to just give anything and I know people may think a dollar’s not a lot, but every little bit helps.”

Music adds, “With the economy being the way it was, and I lost my father a little over a year ago and he was backboned. We sat in the gym and prayed when COVID was there because the expenses all go up and my choice was to keep my staff, keep my family, or not have fire insurance on the building and I made the decision not to have the insurance.”

A GoFundMe has been set up that seeks to raise Two-hundred Fifty thousand dollars and has so far raised over ninety-four thousand dollars. You can donate to the fundraiser here.
