Jacksonville, Fl — Tuesday was the second official 90 degree day at JAX Airport - with more to come. Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says 2021′s hottest temperature of the year was ‘only’ 95 degrees.
We’re going to come pretty close to the mid-90s the next few days. Today’s record is 96, and it looks like we’ll fall short. Only isolated storms are possible this afternoon but most neighborhoods will be dry.

Thursday will be just as hot, but again just short of the 1960 record high of 97. Our average high this time of the year is 87, so this heat is much earlier than normal.
Friday will introduce an increase in coverage of rain and storms as our pattern begins to change. It will still be hot with temperatures in the low 90s.
The weekend is looking wetter overall with 100% coverage by Sunday. There will be some dry hours in the morning on both Saturday and Sunday but several outdoor events may be interrupted by heavy rainfall and storms. Temperatures will not be as hot but still very humid.
