Student arrested after gun found at Fletcher High Neptune Beach

Duval County Public Schools is increasing security at Fletcher High School today, after a threat the school would be “under fire”.

A call from the Principal to parents says a student found the threat written on a bathroom wall. It indicated the school would be “under fire” today. DSPC says District Police immediately began investigating and- with the assistance of Neptune Beach Police- they have increased security both inside and outside of the school today.

“We take this threat and all threats seriously out of concern for the safety of our students and staff,” says the call from the Principal.

DCPS says there could be criminal charges and district disciplinary action filed against whoever is responsible as a result of their investigation.

They’re asking parents and guardians to talk with their children about the serious consequences that can come from making a threat like this.
