Internet hotspots on backorder for St. Johns County students

Jacksonville, FL — The school district ordered 4,000 T-Mobile hotspots primarily for students using their EmpowerED program.

According to schools spokesperson Christina Langston, T-Mobile reported that they have over 100,000 devices on backorder.

She tells Action News Jax that with the online surge in education nationwide, T-Mobile has seen over 130,000 orders for hotspots in the last few weeks. St. Johns County Public Schools expects a partial delivery from its order to arrive next week.
